The Asians are not going to make it easy for Apple and as the bestselling smartphone out there prepares to get replaced by the iPhone 5, HTC makes a bold move. It has been so far a race between Samsung and Apple, and the two giants didn't hesitate to face each other in court as well as on the market. Galaxy S 2 focused on its faster processor and better display, but this didn't win them, the race and the competition is just as intense, without even having HTC to worry about.
The Taiwanese manufacturer has released several models this fall, but a more powerful gadget was required to compete at the very top. It will come in the form of the Amaze 4G and if HTC delivers exactly what they promise, Samsung's Galaxy S 2 will be in big trouble. For starters, the processor will be an incredible 1.5 GHz dual core one and with 1GB of RAM, more than enough to run virtually any application quickly. The only question is how much raw power do we really need and should we pay increasingly high amounts for something that might be excessive.
You can never have a display that is too good though, and HTC’s Amaze 4G will feature a 4.3-inch qHD, which should be just as good as Samsung's Super AMOLED. Fitted with an 8MB rear facing camera, this smartphone will capture the same amazing videos and pictures as Galaxy S 2, which will further decrease the list of arguments. It is most unlikely that iPhone 5 or Galaxy S 2 owners will switch to Amaze 4G, but the market is ever expanding, and many prospective customers could take the leap of fate. The only downside is that the operating system will be Gingerbread, deeply troubled by HTC's Sense.
