MOTO Smartphones Q8 Q9

Motorola Inc. India has launched two new MOTO Q products in India - the MOTO Q 8, the GSM version and quad-band 3G QWERTY, the MOTO Q 9h.

The MOTO Q 9h, based on the Windows Mobile 6 operating system, equipped with a dual-processor HSDPA/UMTS engine, enables broadband-like over-the-air downloads at up to 3.6Mbps. Consumers will be able to download their favorite music tracks directly onto the Q 9h in approximately thirty seconds without having to touch a computer. While, Moto Q 8 is a quad band GPRS/EDGE QWERTY device based on Windows Mobile 6 operating system.

The MOTO Q 9h was developed as a multi-purpose communication device that is easy to use. This smart phone offers voice quality technology, messaging, speed, processing power, keyboard and display packaged within a sleek design for the modern consumer. A complete productivity and entertainment-on-the-go device.

MOTO Q 9h allows choosing from eight messaging in boxes for corporate or personal email including, Windows Live and other email providers, as well as SMS and MMS messages. Equipped with TI OMAP 2420 processor and 96MB of RAM, busy professionals can leave the laptop at home. Pre-loaded document editing allows to polish presentation on-the-go, Motorola statement added.

It is equipped with 2GB of optional removable microSD storage and 256 MB of on-board flash memory and can store over 1,000 songs and over 10 hours of video (MPEG4). With the integrated Bluetooth wireless technology stereo profiles (A2DP and AVRCP) users can enjoy voice quality wirelessly via a compatible Bluetooth enabled stereo headset and take calls all at the same time.

It comes with 2.0 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video plays back at 30 frames per second.

The MOTO Q 9h supports JAVA and plays host to applications like WorldMate, SplashID, Yahoo! Go and Sudoku. WorldMate allows users to check flight schedules and updates on the go and watch their city's weather, while SplashID offers a safe storage mechanism for credit card and other private information.

Both MOTO Q 8 and MOTO Q9h are preloaded with Documents To Go application which enables user to create, edit and view Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint slides and view PDF files.

The MOTO Q 8 GSM and MOTO Q 9h will be available at all Indian Moto stores and participating retailers. MOTO Q 8 GSM is available between Rs 17000 to 18000 and MOTO Q 9h in between Rs 20000 to 21000.

MOTO W7 Sporty Types

Motorola announces the availability of the MOTO W7 Active Edition 3G-based handset with motion gaming attribute. As the name implies, Motorola’s new w7 Active Edition slider is aimed at those sporty types, with its built-in pedometer and personal trainer application.
The incorporated accelerometer boasts guiding the phone’s activities as per users’ body movements, hand gesture and direction.

The built-in pedometer is also capable of keeping an eye on the steps taken while walking or running and is highly helpful in planning a workout. In addition, the personal trainer application also enables its users to fix workout goals, create workout profiles and make a check of summary reports.

The users are allowed to shake the mobile phone to keep a control of its activities such as turn over the mobile phone to silent the ringer of an incoming call, opt the snooze option to pause music or alarm. Move the mobile phone left or right to switch images and songs and start your preferred application by shaking the handset two times.

The phone also has built-in FM radio, MP3 player, Bluetooth, 8GB exterior optional memory 2 megapixel camera. The 3G network of the handset allows fast download of data and videos quickest access to web content. The users are free to watch videos, via net or on the phone on full screen and also benefits from video calls with the help of its VGA camera.

The handset also allows its users to hook up with a wireless headset as MOTOROKR S9 to get pleasure from music while exercising. The handset is also capable of providing 3D gaming experience. It is also built-in with games.

MOTO W7 Active Edition is expected to appears for Latin Americen and Asian customers in the foreseeable future in Q2 2009. The device will be rolled out in alpine white and licorice colors. And as to its pricing details, no word has been quipped up till now.
