Just when we thought that RIM has finally reached the bottom of the sack with their latest releases, they surprise us with yet another BlackBerry to hit the shelves in September, the Curve. Among all the models, they have announced and launched these days, this one is arguably the best looking, and it doesn't take long for fans to be smitten. Of course, those who love android smartphones with their large touchscreens will probably turn away immediately, but BlackBerry owners will celebrate its curves.

RIM seems to focus on expanding their fan base slowly and focus more on retaining current customers, something that they will succeed with BlackBerry Curve, if they sell it at a reasonable price. The 2.44 inch display is not impressive in terms of size, but the colors are crisp and viewing angles excellent. With its QWERTY keyboard and optical mouse, navigation is a breeze and the BlackBerry 7 operating system further enhance the user experience.

Integrated social features will appeal to those who want to stay in touch with their friends all the time, with the email and messenger painting the bigger picture. A 5 megapixel camera allows VGA video recording, and the battery life is excellent, so even if you use the BlackBerry Curve all day long, you will not need to recharge it.

BlackBerry Curve Inside the hood, we find a 800 MHz CPU, slightly slower than what the other BlackBerries offer these days, and also 512 MB of RAM. It is less than what we'd expect in terms of processing power, but still the applications run fast, and the smartphone is very responsive. Scheduled for a late August release in Canada and expected to hit the shelves worldwide in September, the BlackBerry Curve has to be rather inexpensive, to give buyers the incentive its hardware can't offer.
