LG Optimus 3D is no longer alone in the big world of smartphones and he now has a twin in the United States, codenamed Thrill 4G. The latest addition from LG is virtually a clone, but this is not necessarily a bad thing, given the quality of the global counterpart. In terms of design at least there are no changes whatsoever, and if you don't mind carrying around a rather large and heavy phone, you have not reasons to complain. It is reasonable though, given the fact that it sports the same 4.3-inch display supporting an 800×480 resolution.
What is inside is equally fascinating and predictable, as it replicates to the letter, the configuration of LG Optimus 3D, which is itself a very fast and reliable smartphone. Thrill 4G comes fitted with a 1GHz dual core CPU, the same TI OMAP 4430 and 512 RAM, so you will enjoy a speed demon if you purchase this gadget. The cameras are not very impressive, with a 5 megapixel one on the back and a front facing one of 1.3, but the images and videos captured meet the expectations.
One of the greatest problems of Thrill 4G is that it runs on Froyo 2.2, which is downright unacceptable for a brand-new device, even if upgrades are soon to follow. If you think that this smartphone aims to compete with the very best devices, such an omission is simply surprising. The battery life is not impressive either, and if you abuse 3D shooting capabilities of Thrill 4G, it will run out very fast, in less than a day's time. Its biggest advantage is that the price is sensational, standing at $100 with a two-year plan. You will have a hard time finding a less-expensive smartphone at this performance.
