Motorola Gleam to launch soon in India

It seems that the Motorola is not much into the fascinations that the Android OS had made in the mobile market. This is because; they are going to launch their brand new ordinary handset in to Indian market by the mid 2011. The price is not yet released for this handset.

Motorola Gleam
The Motorola Gleam is having a very close resemblance with that of the MOTO RAZR. It is a clamshell handset with the same features as that of the RAZR. It is having the messaging offers, browsers, media player, organizer, calendars etc. The only factor that makes this a distinguished is the style. This Motorola Gleam has got a very superb style. It is specially made for the youth. The handset has got a LED display in order to notify about new messages and miscall alerts. The music player is also a very good feature in this. The sound is a surprisingly good. The media player supports various formats like mp3, mp4, wav, wma, wmv etc. The handset also contains the stereo Fm radio with RDS function. The audio is fed in to the headset using a 3.5 mm headset jack.

Motorola Gleam
The Motorola Gleam runs on the old java platform. It is following the 2G network 800/900 and EDGE. The handset has the connectivity options through Bluetooth, USB, EDGE and GPRS. It is also having a very good display. The screen is of size 2.4-inch QVGA with a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The camera is also comparatively good in function. It is having an immobile type camera with 2 mega pixels lens. The handset is having an internal memory of 5MB which can be expanded up to 16GB with the help of a micro SD memory card. Practically, there is the capacity of storing 800 contacts right now. This includes other features like multiple number per contacts,
caller image, ring ID etc.

These handsets are meant for users who need ordinary handsets for normal price. Motorola has already planned to introduced their Android based handset in to Indian market called Defy. But they made a twist from the usual path apart from that of the Samsung and LG, who go on launching brand new Android handsets every month. It also seems that the company wants to focus on to the base segment in order to target the customers who need only the base model handsets.
