LG Optimus GT540 now boasts Android 2.1

It was considered another smartphone in the league of Spice Mi-300, Samsung Galaxy 5 & 3 and it indeed was. We are here talking of the second Android handset of LG, the LG Optimus GT540. Originally running on the Android 1.6 OS, LG Optimus GT540 was a rage and now its lovers have more reasons to rejoice since some more goodness has been added in this handset as it get upgraded to Android Eclair (2.1). Samsung Galaxy Twins, Galaxy 5 and Galaxy 3 are its tough rivals but as it get this update, it has improved on following fronts.

The phone already had some really impressive features but on downside it was still having resistive touchscreen while competitors have moved to making capacitive screens like the HTC and Samsung. Just incorporating Android was not enough and thus LG gave it a thought.

SNS is integrated in LG Optimus for getting updates from social networking sites. The smartphone supports the DivX/XviD video support. Optimus GT540 also supports browsing via GPRS/ EDGE. There is easy access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter on this handset which also boasts of 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery. Long 15 hours of talk time and 750 hours of standby time is a treat for those who love to talk.

The hot swappable microSD card slot of LG Optimus is expandable to 16 GB. LG GT540 is supported on quad band 2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz network along with 3G HSDPA 900 / 2100 and 850 / 2100 MHz networks.
LG Optimus GT540 price in India is near to Rs. 12,000 mark.

3G smartphones Dell XCD28 & Dell XCD35 forays in India

Dell is the largest PC manufacturer of India and the US giant has now forayed in the India’s 30K crore mobile market with its XCD smartphones. With such reputable name entering smartphone segment of India, the other mobile making firms viz. Nokia, Motorola and Samsung are going to get tough competition. The Dell smartphones XCD28 & XCD35 are highly advanced 3G mobiles working on Google’s Android 2.1 operating system. The respective prices of XCD28 and XCD35 smartphones are Rs.10,990 and 16,990 in Indian market.

Dell XCD28These relatively cheap and affordable smartphones another highlight would be their 3G services. Indian telecom market is fastest growing in the world and is eagerly waiting for 3G services to launch for witnessing another boom.
Individually, the most prominent feature of Dell XCD35 is its 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen and 3 MP camera. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm 600MHZ processor, 256MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM. On the other hand, Dell XCD28 handset model has a 2.8-inches resistive touch screen plus a 3.15MP camera. Other feature includes Microsoft e-mail exchange, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. In fact, all the Android market applications can also be easily accessed on these smartphones which will amuse most young people greatly.The XCD smartphones, XCD28 & XCD35 are touch-screen mobile phones from Dell customised to suit the Indian buyers needs and mentalities. Android based QWERTY phone “Motorola Flipout” smartphone in India

According to latest news, the ultra-stylish smartphone to be launched in India by Motorola is based on Android 2.1 (Eclair) OS. Called as Motorola “Flipout” will soon be selling in India, hopefully by November first week. The pre-orders of this phone are already being taken. Motorola Flipout will sell full fledged in Q2, 2010. The handset is already launched in Singapore and will soon be hitting stores in India at an approximate price of Rs. 15,299 though the best price for the phone may slightly differ. Boasting of a slider (or flip), Flipout will include Motorola's Motoblur feature for UI handling. The slider reveals the full five-row QWERTY keypad of the phone. Motorola Flipout has physical dimensions of 67.00 x 67.00 x 17.00 mm and it is light in weight at just 120 grams.

There is an impressive set of features incorporated in this unusual smartphone. Motorola Flipout display is sized at 2.8 inches and its 320X420 pixels resolution yields sharp view on the phone. Its multi-touch screen has pinch to zoom feature for alluring users. Its super speed is because of its 700 MHz processor. The multimedia features of Motorola Flipout are also awesome as there is 3.1 megapixel camera. There is a 3.5mm headset jack, FM Radio Receiver and AAC, AAC , AAC , MP3 and WMA file format supported on the phone.

For storage of pictures and videos plus data on phone there is 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM and the internal memory can be expanded to 32GB via a microSD card. The new phone gives access to Facebook, MySpace and Twitter like social networking sites.


The 3G smartphone Motorola Flipout is supported on HSDPA 900 / 2100 dual band. Google services can be easily accessed on Flipout such as Google Search, Gmail, and Google Maps. Many more apps from Android market can be accessed on it. One may easily upload snaps and videos instantly from Flipout on to Facebook, MySpace, Picasa and Photobucket to let your friends and family see them from far off. For navigation, phone has A-GPS and e-compass enabled on it. Vibrant colours make this phone very much sought after and these are white, green, red, blue, licorice and saffron colors.

“Samsung Galaxy S2”, mega-display android mobile launched in India

Amidst speculations, Samsung Galaxy S2 I9200 smartphone will launch in India most probably by first quarter of next year. It is an alleged successor of mobile phone Samsung Galaxy S I9000.The specifications and features of this Android based smartphone handset are being circulated on Net. The Galaxy S2 sports 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display screen and this massive gadget has 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution. The further advancement in Super AMOLED screen. Is its 2-GHz processor. It also comes with 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of ROM.

This smartphone will have A-GPS for navigation through unknown places. There is WLAN (b / g / n) and Bluetooth 3.0 for local data transfer.
